Case Study Links of Students Learning Construction Skills

As they build homes or apartments for others

#1  GAP School, St Paul, Mn:  Students are building homes for low income families.  They have completed several homes and currently (2023-24 school year) are building additional homes.

#2   Exploration High School/uncommon Construction Minneapolis  Students are building “tiny homes”

#3   Hutchinson High School, Hutchinson Minnesota  Students are building “tiny homes”

#4  Veteran’s Project, St Paul, Minnesota  Students are constructing a building that will house 10 apartments for low income veterans and veterans experiencing homelessness

#5  Wright Technical Center, Buffalo, Minnesota   Students are constructing homes that people can purchase for far less than “market rate”.

#6 Anoka-Hennepin Public Schools   As of the 2023-24 school year, Anoka-Hennepin Public School students have been building homes for more than 20 years.  The district has been selling these homes (the latest of which is a 3 bedroom home) for less than $100,000.  This does not include the cost of land.
